This book bases itself on an idea that astral projections are possible. The author incorporates that into a spy/action book where there is a British intelligence group with support from the CIA that trains teenagers (around 18 years old) to project themselves out of their body to be able to get information from active terrorist groups. But one day a street boy by the name of Danny needs the money to pay back his grandmother for her generosity so he breaks into an old house hoping to find things worth some money to help pay his grandmother back. But the moment he enters this house he enters the realm of the Shadow Project and he gets enters a world where there are threats, spies, killing, and too many awful things to bear for a person without experience. Before long entering the Shadow Project he finds himself blackmailed into helping the Shadow Project defeat one of the words biggest terrorist groups, which is much more than tanks and guns.

For me the best part of this book is when the Shadow Project operatives project out of their body and they get to be able to see and hear things that terrorists where not intending to be heard. But the CIA and British aren’t the only ones with knowledge on their side.
I would recommend this book to both boys and girls ages 13-17 years old.

THRONE OF FIRE by Rick Riordan

Even after making peace with the evil god Set, Carter and Sadie Kane have a mission. They must awaken the sun god Ra and search for the Book of Ra. However, the problem is that no one actually knows where Ra is. Sure, he’s probably in the Duat, but that doesn’t help much. Carter and Sadie have been training kids who had found the locker and it contents. But even if all of them and the gods unite, it might not be enough to fulfill their task with only five days until the world ends.

I liked the part where Sadie and Carter were in Russia and they battled Vlad. I liked it because there was a lot of action and it was really gripping.

I would recommend this book to both boys and girls ages 9 and up.

He tries to bring his NEW family [he was an orphan that taught himself how to steal} to safety.

The best part is when Misha taunts Buffo who tries to then kill him.

I would recommend this book to both boys and girls ages 10-13 years old.

This book is about a two boys Spider and Trey. They live on the odd side of the street; which seems just right. Spider is afraid he won’t be “cool” if he hangs out with Trey because the other boys don’t like him. But, they are neighbors and have been friends forever. Will spider’s reputation destroy a wonderful friendship? Read this book to find out!

The saddest part in this book was when Trey wanted to play basketball with all the other boys and they said no… except for Spider. He started to play and messed up. According to the other boys he was a failure. This really hurt Trey’s feelings a lot. It wasn’t his fault he wasn’t a basketball superstar!

I would recommend this book to both boys and girls ages 8-10 years old

The scariest part for me was when they got bombed, also, their plane falls out of the sky. All of then are injured, hurt. One might be dead. Having no idea of getting back to safety, they must try and survive…

I think 14 year old girls will enjoy this book.

This book is about a group of 5 kids who can mutate into birds whenever they want! They have a mission. Their mission is to save the WORLD!! But, when they are pursued uber-director, their creator, wants to sell then to the highest bidder, they have to struggle to fight against him.

The scariest part in the book, for me, was the part when they were in Antarctica, Sue-Anne gets taken by the leg by a sea monster! A little bit later in the book, the figure out that Sue-Anne died!!

I think both boys and girls who are ages 12+ will enjoy this book.

There is a family that tries to go on a nice vacation but the hotel that they were trying to stay at had no more rooms so the family stays in the elevator. So there just going through they’re life they’re ordering pizza and ordering breakfast and lunch meeting new people. Every family that goes into the elevator looks at them weird because now body stay in an elevator for they’re vacation!

My favorite part of this book is when the Family moves into the elevator because its not regular for a family to go on vacation in a elevator.

It was a great adventure for him.

This book is mostly about this young adult named Jim Hawkins and he’s the one who wrote this book. This book is sad but very adventurous. Jim Hawkins’s mother and father are in the book and own a cabin that the live in and rent. One day a Captain named Billy Bones comes to the Inn to rent it and he has a “chest” with a map in it that leads to “Treasure Island”. Days go by and the captain is running out of money to pay, and one day a man comes by…………………………………………………………………Read this The saddest part is when they leave Treasure Island on the ship; there are men still left on Treasure Island after a fight. They are injured and can’t walk so they’re on the ground and the people on the ship just leave supplies near the men. The men are saying, “please help me”. But they could be traders and kill them so they can’t take the risk. This part is very sad.

I think boys who are 9-12 years old will enjoy this book.

FLASH FIRE by Caroline B. Cooney

The book started with Danna thinking that nothing ever happens in Pinch Canyon, California. Then things started getting bad. Huge brush fires started all over the Los Angeles area. Then Hall, Danna’s brother saw a huge fire heading straight to Pinch Canyon. The firefighters came to help out but they could do nothing to help the rich people of Pinch canyon and there huge houses. People died, burned, and the fire took everything in its way. DO NOT READ IF YOU ARE NOT AGES 11 – 15.

The scariest part was when Beau went back into the burning house didn’t come back out.

I would recommend this book to both boys and girls ages 11-15.

Mrs. Granger is known for being mean. Nick Allen creates a new word Mrs. Granger doesn’t enjoy the joke. Nick makes a bunch of money off of his new word "frindle". The new word spreads and it gets Nick into some trouble. To try to stop the word Mrs. Granger holds kids at school after school to write sentences.

The best part of the book was when Nick came up with the world frindle instead of saying pen. Nick also signed something with his friends that declared that they will never say pen. They will always say frindle.

I think both boys and girls ages 8-12 years old will enjoy this book.

NANCY DREW: THE CLUE INTHE DIARY #7 by Carolyn Keene

Nancy and her 2 friends are driving home from carnival and see a whole house burn down. They stop and try to help but it was to late; the whole house burned down. The person whose house burned down was Felix Raybolt, a scam who stole people’s inventions. The story is about Nancy and her 2 friends trying to find out who burned the house down, but on the way the have a few other mysteries to solve. The mystery gets even crazier when the police blame one of Nancy friends. Can they find out who burned the house down before its to late?

The scariest part of the book is when Nancy and her friends visit Felix Raybolt’s house and Nancy’s two friends; Bess and George wake up to find Nancy screaming. They don’t know where she is, and what she’s doing but then realize that Felix Raybolt might have captured her.

I would recommend this book to girls ages 10-15 years old

Ruthie is having trouble in school containing her laughter. Also, Ruthie and her brother ,Eddy, maybe going to their grandmother’s house. But, their parents’ won’t let them go. In order to go , Ruthie and Eddy run away to a train….. And bad things happen!!

My favorite part is a fun favorite in this colorful novel. It’s when ever Eddy sees a funny thing on TV, he repeats it over, and over, and over again and again

Kelsey and Sam are school slackers. Judy and Brenton are school wizards. One day Brenton told Sam he had a homework machine, Judy and Kelsey overheard and they all went over to his house after school to use it. They thought this was supposed to make their lives easier but it just got them in a big load of trouble.

The saddest part of the book was when Sam’s dad got killed. He got killed when he was over fighting in the war.

TRUMPET OF THE SWAN by E. B. White

This book is about a mom and dad trumpeter swan that laid five eggs. After all the eggs hatched, each baby swan could talk. Except one named Louis. The story is about a swan that grows up with no voice. His dad steals a trumpet so the baby swan can make noise. But Louis is in debt and needs to pay back for the trumpet his father stole.

My favorite part of the book is when Louis goes to a camp with his person friend, Sam. During a camp day, a skunk appears at the camp with a soup can stuck on his head. Sam gets a fishing pole and gets the can off the skunk head. The skunk, frightened, sprays its stinky gas at Sam and he gets all smelly!

I would recommend this book to all animal lovers.

Kids from Wodehouse middle school have to come to Mackerel Middle school and it happens to be at the same time that they are giving out awards. Lots of the girls try to sabotage the voting for prettiest, but some how by the end they all become really good friends and all get awards their proud of.

I thought the funniest part was when she tried to talk in an Italian accent that her friend taught her and said her grandma had that accent, but really it was just that her grandmas dentures were broken.

Brian’s Winter is about a kid named Brian who gets trapped in the woods when the plane crashed. Now Brian has to build a house and stay warm for the brutal, harsh, and cold winter. He also has to protect himself from wild and dangerous animals and build weapons to kill animals so he can survive from starvation.

My favorite part in this book is when a skunk comes to Brian’s house and asks for food. That’s when the skunk kept on coming to Brian’s house and asking for food. That was the funniest part I liked in the book.

The book is about a cat named Rusty who wanders into thunder clan territory and meets a cat named Graypaw. Graypaw and Rusty don’t know they are being watched by the clan leader Bluestar that then asks Rusty to join the thunder clan because they need more clan cats to make the clan more secure.

My favorite part is when Firepaw (or Rusty) goes into shadow clan territory to rescue two kittens that were stolen by Clawface (a shadow clan warrior) because it is really exciting because the thunder clan with the help of shadow clan elders try to rescue the kittens and the elders try to get rid of their rude and selfish leader Brokenstar.

I would recommend this book to both boys and girls ages 9-14 years old

What surprised me the most was when Brain found a sharp object; he picked it up it cut him. I was surprised because if you find something sharp you don’t pick it up.

This book is about a twelve-year-old girl name Alexia, who is spending another summer in Bridewell. When she comes an old friend dies suspiciously. It up to her to find out what happened. She uses her mom's spyglasses that she took with out permission to look beyond the wall but when her enemy breaks everything changes. She goes among the wall behind Bridewell. Then she meets a little guy named Yipes and discovers she has magical ability! That changes her life forever. Her life long enemy may be the one who can help her the most.

My favorite part is when her enemy Perris challenges Alexia for a game of chess for a question that is about behind the walls of Bridewell. Pervis beats Alexia with a secret trick he learns and find out everything that she learns from Yipes.

I would recommend this book to both boys and girls who are 10-13 years old.

The book, “Holes”, is a book about a boy named Stanley. One day he was walking home from school and these very expensive shoes just fell on his head and the police were looking for those shoes so when the police saw him with the shoes they brought him to court and asked him if he wanted to go to jail or just go to a camp called, Camp Green Lake. So he said that he had never been to camp before so he chose to go to Camp Green Lake. But it wasn’t what he expected it was really a camp where you dig huge holes all day!!

SPOILER ALERT:

My favorite part of this book was when at the end Stanley finds treasure filled with a lot of gold and money!

I think both boys and girls of all ages will enjoy this book.

This book is very good; it is an extended version of Hatchet. This book is about survival in the Canadian woods in the winter. One of the good things about it is it is that a lot of things attack him that are very dangerous.

One of my favorite parts is when he met a skunk and every day he had to feed the skunk meat for him not to spray him.

I think boys who are ages 9-14 would enjoy this book.

While they were there, Mr. McIntyre told them that there was a challenge for the people in the Cahill family. They had to accept the challenge that Grace had given them while competing against other members of the Cahill family. Can you believe that they could’ve inherited $1,000,000 dollars, but they loved Grace. Anyways, everytime they find a clue, their competition tricks them. But together, Amy and Dan Cahill will win this challenge and help Grace.

My favorite part was when Amy said that a long time ago, if they wanted to disguise a name, they would just use the first letter. So, since Amy’s first name started with an A, Dan said, “Hmmm, so I could say that A- had a face like a baboon butt, and they wouldn’t know who I was talking about?” And then, Amy boxed him in the ear. This was the funniest part.

I think both boys and girls who are ages 9-12 year sold would enjoy this book.

The creepiest part was when they receive embarrassing personal secrets that threaten to tell people. And over the news it is saying there is someone who is going around looking in people’s window stalking them.

At the beginning of the book a kid name Keith was on a football team, in the championship and they were down by four points and Keith got a wide open pass and dropped it. He was so devastated that he didn’t want to play football because that pass was with zero seconds left in the game. His friends talked him into playing football because they said nobody would make fun of him and they ended up winning the whole thing the next year!
My favorite part was when Keith got a touchdown pass to win it all in the end of the book and when Keith’s friends talked him into playing.

This story is pretty straight forward, the main character Geronimo Stilton has to race across America to win money for charity. Really that almost sums up the whole story. Yet the other part of this story is pretty much Geronimo’s nephew who calls him a “hero”.

My favorite part (Though most of this book was very poor.) was when the mice were

going over the Grand Canyon it seemed like the only good part with in this book.
I would not recommend this book to my friends.

A little boy named A.J. got put in a gifted & talented class (with a girl named Andrea). That month was national poetry month! When A.J. and Andrea go down to Ms. Cocos room they each have to write a poem until the month is over. A.J. wrote a poem that made Ms Coco cry!!!
The book wasn’t really good so the whole book was the worst part.
I would recommend this book to both boys and girls who are 8-9 years old.

She wants to move back to her old school, but then she finds out she wins the contest with the help of her friends who took pictures of the tattoos and entered them in the contest.

My favorite part was when Nikki tells her little sister that, since she buried her toot the tooth fairy wouldn’t be able to make old people dentures and she would be very mad.

My favorite part is when Abby is outside after school, because she loves being outside in the woods. But her Dad calls for her to come home. She haggles with him until she gets thirty minutes of free time, but eight minutes later she comes home. This makes me proud of her since she loves to spend time outside, but she takes responsibility to come home and do her homework.

The most disgusting part is when a lot of animals are lying on the ground, dead, none of the good wolfs were. They ate a poisoned cow that the humans have touched

Also live with a whole new family, with Mrs. Donnelly and a rude daughter Sophie. During his time at this scary school he is chosen without knowing to be 8^th grade president. Who knows he maybe turn out to be a great president!

My favorite part would be when Cap’s bus driver has a heart attack everyone panics because no one has driving experience at the age of 13 besides Cap. So everyone decides to have Cap drive the bus to a hospital to help the poor bus driver ho is suffering. Can they make it in time, what will happen?

Brian Robeson’s been trapped in the northern Canadian wilderness and facing the most difficult challenge of all. Winter. When he finds out that small breakable arrows won’t work. He took a couple days making war arrows. Helping him not waste arrows, after a bear attacked. Taking a couple days preparing for the harsh winter (making a rain/snow proof shelter and making snowshoes). Using his intelligence, he knows how to mark his territory (from the wolves) so no predators will attack him. At the end of the book he finds a pack of Cree trappers which help him return to home

The scariest part was when the bear attacks his shelter. I was so scared I didn’t even want to stop, it was so scary. He tries to kick it but it just makes it angrier and ends up in cuts and scratches.

I would recommend this book to boys and girls who like survival and a bit disturbing books.

The scariest part for me was when Maleeka was walking home when 2 boys started to hit her and tell her to kiss them. Maleeka kept saying no and trying to run but one of the boys grabbed her hands and held them behind her back so she couldn’t get away but she kicked them and them bit one of the boys hand while he was beating her with his hand.

The save is best friend 100ft under water in 1 hour then go through a bush maze and get the trophy and win 1000 galleons. He and the other student from his school Hogwarts they grab it at the same time and end up I a graveyard. Harry has been there in one of his nightmares. He realizes that the graveyard he is in had the grave of Lord Voldermort. Voldermort wants to kill Harry because he couldn’t do it 13 years ago. Lord Voldermort has come back to live and the first thing he does his kill someone. Who? Read it to find out

My favorite but scariest part was when Harry had to fight lord voldermort and try to destroy him.

I would recommend this book to people ages 9 to 99 and anyone one who likes scary stories.

So far Brian has been surviving in the Canadian Wilderness for summer and fall now here comes winter. He has to stay healthy and think positive about all what’s happened and going to happen. He has to make new clothes for protecting from diseases, new shelter for protection from animals, and new snowshoes to walk without falling.

In my opinion the disturbing part is when Brian sees the dead carcass of the doe and all the blood was scattered everywhere it was so disturbing my hands became numb.

My favorite part is when most of the school starts to like him. They learn things that he used to do in garland and it helps them more in life. They don’t try to tease him any more they actually hang out with cap and consider him as a friend.
