BEYOND THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES BY: Tony Diterlizzi

This book is about two kids named Nick and Laurie who one day find these little creatures called nixies, and giants. Nick and Laurie communicate to one of these creatures and the creature named Talaa give them their mission to find their sisters from the pond. While on their mission to find these sisters they awake a giant. This sis a special giant. When it is awoken, all of the other giants of its kind awaken. When all of the giants are awoken the tempt to destroy houses, farms, forests and many other important places.

The saddest part of the book is when Laurie loses her locket which has the only picture left of her father.

I would recommend this book to both boys and girls ages 5-11

This book is about a girl mouse named Babymouse. She's got everything planned out for halloween when somebody ruins her plan..................... her arch-enemie FELICIA FURRYPAWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She changes her costume and everything to hang out with her. Even her personality!!!! Babymouse planned that after she went trick- or - treating she was going to have a halloween party. But that might change too.Will Babymouse change back to who she really was, or will she stay like what Felicia wants, and she hates ?


The funniest part of the book was when Babymouse popped the fake eye out of  her eye socket and Felicia screamed and ran away.

I would recommend this book to girls who are ages 7-11.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST by Michal Dahl

      This book is about a young girl named beauty. She has 2 sisters and their dad goes on a trip. The dad wants to get a present for each of his daughters. Beauty wanted a rose her father picked one that belonged to a beast,the beast wanted beauty. so beauty went the next morning. The beast wanted to marry beauty she said,"no" and said,"i'll be back in a week" but came back a little after a week. When she returned Beast was dieing beauty said,"i love you" and something happened read it to find out what.

     The scariest part was when beast wanted to have dinner with beauty.

     I would recommend this book to girls ages 6-10

BONE:OUT FROM BONEVILLE by Jeff Smith

This book is about a small creature named bone who's cousins got lost when they were separated by locusts. They find out that they are trapped in a mysterious world with big bugs,dragons,and huge rats. Bone finds out when winner comes it's GAME OVER. Will bone find his cousins in time?

My favorite part was when he got burned by a dragon.

I would recommend this book to boys ages 8-12.

Coonwaer was a pickpocket until he met Nevery. With  Nevery's help Coon became a wizard. But when he made one strike he lost his locus stone. Without a locus stone he could not be a wizard. Now Coon is searching for a new locus stone. Will he succeed or will he put the town in danger...FOREVER! 

The coolest part was when coon made a magic explosion in the begging of the story.

both boys and girls ages 9-11 will like this book.

GOSSAMER by Lois Lowry

GOSSAMER is about a dream giver named Littlest One. She starts with a teacher called Fastidious, but then she switches to a teacher named Thin Elderly. There is a little boy in Thin Elderly's house and Littlest One is assigned to give the little boy dreams. But then other dream givers report Sinisteeds, horse things that give nightmares instead of dreams. Littlest One has to give good dreams to fight the nightmares. One night, she meets a Horde, a herd of Sinisteeds. She just escapes being trampled, and recieves a surprise from Most Ancient, the leader.

My favorite part was when Littlest discovers that she isn't transparent anymore, she is transuculent. Not quite solid yet, but half solid half transparent. Thin Elderly holds his arm up to hers and she sees the difference.

I would reccomend this book to girls who are ages 8-11.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl

Charlie is a boy who wants chocolate more than anything but he only got one bar a year. Chocolate was made by a man called Willy Wonka. One day Willy Wonka put 5 golden tickets into his candy bars and sent them all over the world. 4 kids found the tickets almost instantly. One day Charlie found money on the street and he spent it on the last chocolate bar with the ticket! Charlie went with his grandpa to the factory with the 4 bad children and and many adventures where the bad children left so Charlie inherited the whole factory.

My favorite part was when the Oompa Loompas were singing songs about the bad children.

I'd recommend it to girls and boys 6-11.

GARGOYLES DON'T DRIVE SCHOOL BUSES BY DEBBIE DADEY AND MARCIA THORTON JONES

This book is about 4 friends named Howie, Eddie, Liza, and Melody. Their bus driver was gone and replaced with a gargoyle mr. Stone.Their library the Baily City Library owner is going to knock the library down but the kids want to save the library and there are 6 gargoyles living on top of the library and one of them is Mr.Stone the kids gave a speach to save the library and it worked.

my favorite part of the book was when the kids found out that mr. stone was a gargoyle.

The riddle of zorfendorf castle is about t the three friends. When they go into their basement, shut the door, and turn off the lights, rainbow stairs appear! When they climb the stairs, they enter the secret world of droon! But, they have to protect zorfendorf castle from evil emporer Ko. Ko is after the fifth river which is hidden in zorfendorf castle. Why is ko after it? You will have to find out yourself...


My favorite part of the book was when they went into the basement, the rainbow stairs appeared , and the three friends entered droon.

I would recommend this book to both boys and girls who are ages, 7-9.

IF I RAN THE CIRCUS by Dr. Seuss

The main characters are Mr. Sneelick and Morris McGirk. The setting is Mr. Sneelock's store and the vacant lot behind the store. The plot is McGurk's imagination. The problem is McGurk's dream is not real. The end of the sentences rhyme.

My favorite part of the book was when McGurk greeted everybody and they were going to like it.

The funniest part of the circus was when Mr. Sneelock does every trick. The book was long.

I would not recommend this book to both boys and girls ages 2-6.

FOSTER'S HOME FOR IMAGINARY FRIENDS #2 by Amy Keating Rogers

The girl gets clothes that are yellow and blue pants. She likes to do kickball, and the three sisters were saying bad things about her clothes. So she starts dressing like them and she talks like them.

I think this book is funny.

I would recommend this book to both boys and girls who are ages 10-12

EIGHT KEYS By Suzanne LaFleur

 This book is about a girl who has eight  keys hidden in her house. One of the keys has her name on it.The rest of the keys lead to secret places in her aunt's house. She is bound to find where the keys lead her and the rooms they go to. Some of the rooms have monsters and some have gems and some even have skeletons of people! So read this story to solve the mystery of what is in each room.

The scariest part was when she got a nail in her finger. I don't want to spoil it so I won't tell you how this happened.

I would recommend this book  to both boys and girls who are ages 9 to 16.

My favorite funniest part was when Violet through  something and it bounced up and landed in his sandwich. I would recommend this book boys/girls who are ages 7 - 10.

My favorite part is when Gandalf  talks about the ring.

FLY GUY VS. THE FLY SWATTER by Tedd Arnold

One day Buzz was going on a field trip and Buzz brought his pet fly. His fly's name was Fly guy. But he didn't know that it was a fly swatter factory. So Buzz went to an assembly. The guy in the fly suit said flies play in slime and Fly guy nodded. Then the guy in the fly suit said flies eat garbage Fly guy smiled. After that the guy in the fly said flies are nasty Fly guy got mad.


The nastiest part was when Fly guy was eating trash out of Buzzes backpack.

ONE FISH TWO FISH RED FISH BLUE FISH by Dr. Seuss


The book One Fish Two Fish Red Fish is filled with many, many poems and even a few  tongue twisters. The book also has many made up creatures that have very funny names. Along with with funny names these creatures also have a silly nature.

My favorite part of the book was the poem about an made up animal called a Yink.

I would recommend this  book for boys and girls from 1 to 100.

I would rate this book ***** stars.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: CABIN FEVER by Jeff Kinney

The main character in this book is Greg Heffley .The setting is in Greg's house.The problem is that Greg's family is stuck in their house during a Blizzard.Gregs dad is at a hotel. The Family cant get Food.

The funniest part in this Story is when santa is looking at Greg at a embarrassing Moment.

 I would recommend this book for Ages 8-16.

MRS. JAFEE IS DAFFY! by Dan Gutman

This story is about the new vice principal, Mrs. Jafee.  She has some wacky ideas, she makes the kids do math on their heads.  Also, she makes the kids do spelling tests under water.  Third, everybody has to do yoga, can she get any weirder?

My favorite funniest part w as when she made the kids do yoga.

I would recommend this book to both boys and girls who are ages 9 to 11.

MISS SUKI IS KOOKY by Dan Gutman

In this book the characters are Miss.Suki A.J and his friends.Miss.Suki came to visit the students class with a pet bird wen Miss.Suki was talking the, bird flue away oh no the bird flue write out the door get that bird! The whole class went out the door to get the bird.after two whole hours they got the bird but sadly the bird was dead... Miss.Suki left the class balling her eyes out I guess things don't always end happily ever after.

The worst part was when the bird was dead whn they found it.

I would recommend this book to both boys and girls ages 8-11

GEORGE THE DRUMMER BOY by Nathanial Benchley

The book deals with the battle of Lexington. George, who is a soldier, is the main character. The battle began with two lights in a church. At the end of the book, Fred, George's friend, got shot by one of the minutemen. Fred was okay, and they were glad that the war was over.

The most exciting part was when George's best friend Fred got shot by a minuteman.

I would recommend this book to boy ages 8-15 years old

     I liked the book when all the kids had masks on. on that looked  like dinessors. and when every one thought that mark got a bookmark.

JUDY MOODY, M.D THE DOCTOR IS IN! by Megan Mcdonald

This book is about a girl named Judy Moody who goes on a field trip. Then she gets so into doctor things. Suddenly one morning she turns extremely sick. But the bad part is that nothing is making her feel better. Her sort of friends I call them sort of friends because they were mean to her by tricking her to think she duplicate there class guinea pig came over. They brought her pets to make Judy feel comforting. Thats something thing they learned on the field trip to the hospital.


My favorite part of the book was when Judy's friends trick her to think their class guinea pig was cloned.


I would recommend this book to girls who are ages 7-9.

Jump into the crazy world of Jamie Kelly! Jamie is a middle school age girl. She hates math, but she's good in vocabulary. Jamie's (parents) goal is to get (her) better at math.(She's currently not succeeding). Jamie's best friend's name is Isabella. She also has another "friend", though that's not what I'd call Angeline. Jamie kind of likes Angeline but she likes Jamie a lot better than Jamie likes her.

 My favorite part is when Isabella teaches Jamie the wrong definition to some hard words in vocabulary

THE LITTLES by John Peterson

Living secretly hidden from the Biggs, the Littles are a tiny family that lives in the Biggs' walls inside their house. But, when Mr. and Mrs. Bigg deicide to take a vacation, they let the Newcombs stay in their house while they're gone, But it turns out to the Littles that the Newcombs are a big problem! They leave food out and don't clean after themselves, and worst of all, the Littles are worried that anytime soon there could be a mouse invasion. The only help there is the Newcomb's cat that can chase away mice.  How will anyone be able to tame her? Will there be mice, and if there is, will the tiny people be able to stop them?

My favorite part of the story is when Tom dresses up as a mouse and scares Mrs. Newcomb, thinking that he's a mouse.

I would recommend this book to both boys and girls who are ages 7-9.

BIG NATE ON A ROLL by Lincoln Pierce

 For boy scouts Big Nate's worst enemy ArHtur joins and there is a contest for selling wall hangers.  Artur is lucky with everything and is the best at everything too. If you sold the most wall hangers you would win a skateboard

       My favorite part of the book was when Big Nate won the coin toss

DIARY OF A WIMPY KID: HARD LUCK by Jeff Kinney

In this book, Greg Hefley is alone. His best friend is ditching him for his girlfriend, but when Rowley finds out that his girlfriend is just using him to get her ex-boy friend back that all changed.

My favorite part of the book is when he finds a diamond ring that his whole family is looking for and fighting over.

I would recommend this book to both boys and girls who are 10-13 years old.

ROWAN OF RIN by Emily Rodda

The people of Rin were running out of water. The flow from the mountain had stopped. They made a small team of villagers to go up the mountain  to fix the problem. They got a map from an old woman named Sheba.
Rowan is one of the members of the team. He's the main character of the book. He's a young boy who people thought was weak. But he had to go on the journey because only he could make the ink on the map appear.There were seven people going on the journey.At each challenge that the mountain had for them to face one of them turned back.Only Rowan made it to the top to face the ultimate challenge.The hole team and all the people of Rin realized how brave Rowan really was.

 The funniest part of  the story was when Rowan was afraid to change his clothes in front of another team members even though he had survived deadly challenges.

I would recommend this book to boys and girls who are ages 9-15

BABYMOUSE CUPCAKE TYCOON by Jennifer L. Holm and Matthew Holm

This book is about a girl called Baby Mouse who loves books.    An accident happened in the library so they need to have a fundraiser to replace the books. The fundraiser is selling cupcakes.   Everyone wants to sell the most cupcakes so they can win the best mystery prize. When baby mouse got home she burst right out the door to start selling but realized everyone had already gone to the houses she visited.    Baby Mouse sold to her relatives but by the next day at school she had only sold three.  Baby mouse decided to have a cupcake stand. She got about five customers then it started to rain and a news truck was driving by and said it was the saddest thing they've ever seen. They went up to the stand and asked her what she was doing.   She told them she was selling cupcakes for the school library. They asked  "in the rain?" and  she said "well I love books"! After being on the news she sold about twenty million cupcakes and won the whole contest. Then she found out what the prize was and didn't like it!


The funniest part of the book is when the grandfather says does it have sugar and it is just so he doesn't have to buy the cupcakes.

I would recommend this book to girls

GOOSEBUMPS: THE GIRL WHO CRIED MONSTER BY R.L Stine


  Twelve year old Lucy Dark shouldn't be afraid of a monster. Should she?As her summer reading progresses she realizes her "mentor"(Mr. Mortman) is a little odd. Lucy set's off to find out what's going on. To bad Lucy has told to many monster stories to the point when nobody believes her when she is actually telling the truth.


I think the grossest part of this book was when Mr. Mortman ate a turtle!


I would recommend this book for both boys and girls ages 8-10

This story is about a girl named Jessie that discovers a magic realm in her granny's yard. She later finds out that if the queen doesn't renew the magic,the hedge holding the evil creatures out will break down.Putting the  realm at great risk of being destroyed.

My favorite part was when Jessie's Granny,(the queen) said the magic spell and became young again.

CABIN FEVER Jeff Kinney

Someone has damaged the school property and everyone thinks it's was Greg. Now that the news says there is going to be 2-3 feet of snow everyone prepares to be snowed in. Greg is afraid that when he gets back to school everyone will blame him and he will get a huge punishment, but can it be worse than staying home with your family over the holidays?

I don't like the part when the teachers took away all of the structure toys because that is just mean.

I would recommend this to boys and girls ages 7-11.
