Jake is on a boat with Doc, Buzz, Flanna, and Bill. Doc is doing a project on jaguars and they are in a forest near a lake. They were on a boat and had a terrible accident. 2 People got hurt on the boat, Doc and Bill. Bill died from the fire, and Doc only had a burnt hand.
The most interesting part was when they were stranded (kind of) and Jake found a town with the strange guy from before that broke into one of the head quarters.
I would recommend this for boys and girls both ages 9-13.

STORM RUNNERS by Roland Smith
Chase, Nicole, and Rawshawn are caught in a fearsome storm that is destroying homes and lives. They are caught in suspense in a race for life or death. They are trying to get to Nicole's barn for safe shelter. Along the way some of them get caught up or swept away from the group but they keep on going using teamwork to lead the way. Will they survive or not?
The scariest part was when Rawshawn had to jump in to the large crater with water because there was no other way around. After she jumps in the giant crater she disappears for a few minutes. At a high swimming level Rawshawn makes it to the other side where Chase and Nicole are waiting screaming worried looking for Rawshawn.
I would recommend this book for both boys and girls at the ages 9-12.
From a 1 to 5 star rating I would give it a ***.
