THE AUSTERE ACADEMY by Lemony Snicket
The Baudelaire orphans go to a boarding school called Prufrock Prep, and since they don't have parents to sign a permission slip, they have to stay in an ugly, old, orphans shack intead of a nice dormitory. They meet other orphans at the school who help them struggle through the unfair rules of the academy. Then the Baudelaire's worst enemy comes for "work", and things get a whole lot worse . . .
Violet, Kluas, and Sunny Baudelaire vs. Count Olaf, Vice principal Nero, and Carmelita Spats
They were treated unfairly by the other kids, their teachers made them and the rest of the class do nothing but mearsure and copy down worthless stories every day (plus, there were no weekends), and Count Olaf in disguise made them run laps all night every night.
The Baudelaire orphans worked hard at the beginning, but Count Olaf's tiring laps made them almost fall asleep in class near the middle and end.
I'm not always treated fairly by some people.

Series of Unfortunate Events 10: The Slippery Slope by Lemony Snickett
This book is about when Violet, Klaus, and Sunny go to a mountain because they think their parents might still be alive. Then Count Olaf captured Sunny. It turned out out their parents weren’t alive but Quigly the brother of Isorda was still alive.
My favorite part was when Sunny learned to speak.
I think both boys and girls ages 9-13 will enjoy this book.
