THE RIFLE by Gary Paulsen

In the story, a blacksmith crafts a rifle that has such good aim, that the blacksmith believes that he cannot make another like it. He needed money to raise a family, so he sells it to a man who becomes a famous sharpshooter. When he dies of disease, the gun was passed down for generations until present day. Then tragedy strikes.
The saddest part is when the gun accidentally fires and kills the present owner’s friend.
I think boys who are 10 years old will enjoy this book.

BRIAN'S WINTER by Gary Paulsen

This is a book about a 15-year-old boy who learns to survive in the Canada Wilderness. In Hatchet, Brian’s plane crashes and he has to survive. At the end of he book he is Rescued. But what if he wasn’t rescued. And Brian had to survive in Winter. That is what this book is about.
My favorite part was when Brian shot and got into a fight with the moose and eventually killed it.
I think boys ages 10-15 will enjoy this book.

BRIAN'S WINTER by Gary paulsen

Brian’s Winter is about a kid named Brian who gets trapped in the woods when the plane crashed. Now Brian has to build a house and stay warm for the brutal, harsh, and cold winter. He also has to protect himself from wild and dangerous animals and build weapons to kill animals so he can survive from starvation.
My favorite part in this book is when a skunk comes to Brian’s house and asks for food. That’s when the skunk kept on coming to Brian’s house and asking for food. That was the funniest part I liked in the book.
I would recommend this book to both boys and girls ages 10-13

THE RIVER by Gary Paulsen

Brian Robenson goes back into the woods to get interviewed and has no idea what is about to happen to him. One night Brian senses trouble when a massive lightning storm arrives and Derek, Brian’s interviewer, gets in serious trouble.
My favorite part is when Brian brings Derek down the river on the raft and gets him the nearest help.
I think both girls and boys ages 10-14 years old will enjoy this book.

BRIAN'S WINTER by Gary Paulsen

Brain’s Winter is about Brain after he was saved. He is thinking that what if he was never saved. He thinks about how he would he survive out in winter.
What surprised me the most was when Brain found a sharp object; he picked it up it cut him. I was surprised because if you find something sharp you don’t pick it up.
I would recommend this book to both boys and girls ages 8-13 years old.

BRIAN'S WINTER by Gary Paulsen

This book is very good; it is an extended version of Hatchet. This book is about survival in the Canadian woods in the winter. One of the good things about it is it is that a lot of things attack him that are very dangerous.

One of my favorite parts is when he met a skunk and every day he had to feed the skunk meat for him not to spray him.

I think boys who are ages 9-14 would enjoy this book.

THE FOXMAN by Gary Paulsen

This book is about a 15 year old boy who has to move to his uncles farm in
Minnesota. From that moment on he has to be a farm boy and change his way of life.
But just as he gets used to this new home he finds a shack deep in the woods with a man hidden from society. This man the unlikely mentor of his life, and the saver .

I loved this book. Those who read a book they couldn’t put down, it was just like that.
It has just enough conflict and really good narration. It’s different from other books
But you’ll have to read it to find out.

I would recommend this book to people who like conflict.
I think both boys and girls ages 10 and older will enjoy this book

BRIAN'S WINTER by Gary Paulsen

Brian Robeson’s been trapped in the northern Canadian wilderness and facing the most difficult challenge of all.  Winter. When he finds out that small breakable arrows won’t work.  He took a couple days making war arrows.  Helping him not waste arrows, after a bear attacked.  Taking a couple days preparing for the harsh winter (making a rain/snow proof shelter and making snowshoes).  Using his intelligence, he knows how to mark his territory (from the wolves) so no predators will attack him.  At the end of the book he finds a pack of Cree trappers which help him return to home

The scariest part was when the bear attacks his shelter.  I was so scared I didn’t even want to stop, it was so scary. He tries to kick it but it just makes it angrier and ends up in cuts and scratches.
I would recommend this book to boys and girls who like survival and a bit disturbing books.

BRIAN'S WINTER by Gary Paulsen

So far Brian has been surviving in the Canadian Wilderness for summer and fall now here comes winter. He has to stay healthy and think positive about all what’s happened and going to happen. He has to make new clothes for protecting from diseases, new shelter for protection from animals, and new snowshoes to walk without falling.

In my opinion the disturbing part is when Brian sees the dead carcass of the doe and all the blood was scattered everywhere it was so disturbing my hands became numb.

I would recommend this book to boys and girls ages 9-12

BRIAN'S WINTER by Gary Paulsen

Brian Roberson is stranded in the Canadian wilderness.  Summer and fall has already past so now its winter.  He has a lot of choices to make if he wants to live and tell the story about it.

The grossest part in my mind was at the end of the book.  It is when Brian was watching a couple of wolves eat a moose’s butt while the moose was still alive.  Isn’t that gross!

I think both boys and girls ages 10-15 will enjoy this book.

THE NIGHT THE WHITE DEER DIED by Gary Paulsen

A 15 year old girl named Janet who lives in New Mexico. She has been having a nightmare about a deer. She is the only Anglo [ white person] in her school. She met a man who gets drunk a lot. His name is Billy he is an Indian. Janet’s nightmare is based around how much she loves Billy even thought he is much older. She wishes Billy was still with her, but he left her to leave.
The saddest part of the book is when Janet is asked to leave by Billy even thought she loves him. She loves him for what he could be. Janet rode the pony all the way down the mountain. Crying, her mother had to help her get off. I felt so bad for her.

I think girls who are 10-12 years old will enjoy this book
