Phillipa Fisher is just another ordinary girl. So when her best friend Charlotte moves away, imagine how surprised she is when she realizes that she has a fairy godsister! Phillipa has 3 wishes, but all they end up giving her is trouble...lots of it!
Phillipa was in conflict with Daisy, her fairy godsister.
She was struggling to get along with Daisy.
At the beginning of the story, Phillipa doesn't really enjoy who she is, and her parents embarrass her.
At the end of the story, Phillipa learns to embrace who SHE is.
I related to Phillipa because my parents sometimes embarrass me

GOSSAMER by Lois Lowry
GOSSAMER is about a dream giver named Littlest One. She starts with a teacher called Fastidious, but then she switches to a teacher named Thin Elderly. There is a little boy in Thin Elderly's house and Littlest One is assigned to give the little boy dreams. But then other dream givers report Sinisteeds, horse things that give nightmares instead of dreams. Littlest One has to give good dreams to fight the nightmares. One night, she meets a Horde, a herd of Sinisteeds. She just escapes being trampled, and recieves a surprise from Most Ancient, the leader.
My favorite part was when Littlest discovers that she isn't transparent anymore, she is transuculent. Not quite solid yet, but half solid half transparent. Thin Elderly holds his arm up to hers and she sees the difference.
I would reccomend this book to girls who are ages 8-11.
