The two main characters are Dan and Lizzie. They are brother and sister. Dan and Lizzie are following clues to uncover a family secret. The setting takes place in Japan. When Dan and Lizzie try to get to Japan, their cousins Natalie and Ian tried to stop them from getting on the plane. Dan and Lizzie have to find another way to Japan. Their Uncle Alistair wants to help, but they don't think they can trust him. When they finally get to Japan they start their adventure as they look for the third clue. You have to read the book to find out if they find the clue.
The scariest part was when Lizzie disappeared.

The Sword Thief by Peter Lerangis
Dan and Amy are trying to get out of the Italian airport to find there uncle. The problem was that it was hard to get out of the airport. There is really tight security!
The best part was at the beginning because you didn't know what was going to happen.
I would not recommend this book
I think girls and boys ages 6-7 will enjoy this book
Rating *

39 CLUES #1: MAZE OF BONES by Rick Riordan
The 39 Clues: The Maze of
Bones is an awesome mystery written by a very talented author, Rick Riordan. It
starts out when Amy and Dan Cahill are on their way to their Grandmother,
Grace’s, funeral. Grace was a kind woman who treated Amy and Dan like real
people, not kids. And now, she was gone. While they were there, Mr. McIntyre
told them that there was a challenge for the people in the Cahill family. They
had to accept the challenge that Grace had given them while competing against
other members of the Cahill family. Can you believe that they could’ve
inherited $1,000,000 dollars, but they loved Grace. Anyways, everytime they find
a clue, their competition tricks them. But together, Amy and Dan Cahill will
win this challenge and help Grace.
My favorite part was when
Amy said that a long time ago, if they wanted to disguise a name, they would
just use the first letter. So, since Amy’s first name started with an A, Dan
said, “Hmmm, so I could say that A- had a face like a baboon butt, and they
wouldn’t know who I was talking about?” And then, Amy boxed him in the ear.
This was the funniest part.
I think both boys and girls who are ages 9-12 year sold would enjoy this book.
