THRONE OF FIRE by Rick Riordan

Even after making peace with the evil god Set, Carter and Sadie Kane have a mission. They must awaken the sun god Ra and search for the Book of Ra. However, the problem is that no one actually knows where Ra is. Sure, he’s probably in the Duat, but that doesn’t help much. Carter and Sadie have been training kids who had found the locker and it contents. But even if all of them and the gods unite, it might not be enough to fulfill their task with only five days until the world ends.
I liked the part where Sadie and Carter were in Russia and they battled Vlad. I liked it because there was a lot of action and it was really gripping.
I would recommend this book to both boys and girls ages 9 and up.

LOOK WHAT CAME FROM EGYPT by Miles Harvey

This book is about many Egyptian inventions that we still use today. The story gives facts on how they used these inventions, and describes more about each of them. They invented pens, lighthouses, make up, and much more! This book would be great for reports and information. My favorite part of the book was when there was a translation in Arabic. It would have a commonly used word in English, then translated it in Arabic! I think girls and boys who are ages 6+ would enjoy this book. RATING: *** ~Flip-Flop
