This book is about a girl named Ida who wants more than anything to go to high school. But then, her teacher needs to go out of state.

My favorite part is at the end, when a school inspector opens up a closet and finds inside a mule that they brought back!

I think girls ages 10-12 will enjoy this book.

HEARTBEAT by Sharon Creech

This book is actually a huge poem. It's about a GIRL who loves running and drawing and footnotes. HER mom is having a baby and SHE can't wait! My favorite part is when she draws an apple a day and describes it. I think girls ages 8-12 would enjoy this book. RATING: ****** royal PINK
