Phileas Fogg makes a bet with his friends at the reform club that he can travel around the world in 80 days. He grabs his servant and heads off but runs into many problems along the way, for example Mr. Fix is trying to arrest Phileas Fogg because he thinks Fogg robbed a bank! Fix follows Fogg around everywhere trying to confirm his arrest.Things don't work out well for fix so can Fogg do it with all his other difficulties and win his money he bet back?
Phileas Fogg was in conflict with another person, Mr.Fix.
Phileas Fogg was in conflict with Fix because while Phileas was trying to get around the world, Fix was
trying to arrest him because he thought he robbed a bank, which he didn't.
Phileas Fogg changed because he was very fancy and had a lot of money but in the middle he ran out of money and was poor and didn't wear fancy clothes, once he got home and had won his bet and all his money he was wealthy again.
Phileas Fogg reminded me of myself because I have tried to accomplish something before, and I have done it before just like when Phileas accomplished his goal of getting around the world in 80 days.
I would give this book a **** rating.

JAGUAR by, Roland Smith
Jake is on a boat with Doc, Buzz, Flanna, and Bill. Doc is doing a project on jaguars and they are in a forest near a lake. They were on a boat and had a terrible accident. 2 People got hurt on the boat, Doc and Bill. Bill died from the fire, and Doc only had a burnt hand.
The most interesting part was when they were stranded (kind of) and Jake found a town with the strange guy from before that broke into one of the head quarters.
I would recommend this for boys and girls both ages 9-13.

SO FAR FROM HOME by Barry Denenberg
Mary Driscoll, an Irish mill girl, bobs on the waves of the Atlantic Ocean on the ship to America. She pushes on with high hopes, seeing people getting sick or even dying. She still helps out with watching younger children and helping elderly friends. When she gets to America, she is taken to work in a stuffy mill. It feels as if good times will never come. Can she get through the bad times and move on to the better?
My favorite part was when the ship arrived at the port. It was full of rejoicing, and the author described how people were kissing the ground at the harbor.
I would recommend this book to girls ages 8-12.
