An almost 10 year old boy befriends a pigeon. He has to participate ina festival where thousands of pigeons are released, and men shoot them.
My LEAST favorite part was when he is forced to wring the neck of birds that are shot, but are not yet dead.
I think boys of all ages will enjoy this book.
