The River by Gary Paulsen

A man named Derek comes by Brian Robeson’s house and asks him to go back to the Canadian wilderness so that Derek could learn about survival. Brian says yes. Then Derek gets struck by lightning and gets in a coma. The lightning also struck the radio so the radio was broken. Then he saw a trading post across the river. He has to go across the river. Will he make it? Read the book to find out. My favorite part of the book was when he has to go across the river and the river is so wild so he has to survive. I love when people have to survive.
