I connected and chose this poem, because I've also wondered how dreams get in your head. It made me feel like I wasn't the only person who wonders about a lot of things you wouldn't usually think about. This poem was a mirror for me. I did like the book, because it made me think about how peoples lives are different from mine.

WHICH WAY TO DREAMLAND

I picked this poem because I am a dreamer. I daydream, nightdream, and dream. This poem made me feel sleepy and happy because of the thought of it being so relaxing, nice dreams floating into your head. This was a mirror because I like to think about dreams. I especially liked "Do they leap from the pages of books you have read". I liked the book because of the happy illustrations.

I chose this poem because it reminded me of my first and second grade teacher Mrs. Davies (she taught multi-age)who would always makes me me feel happy when i am sad which i rarely am. This poem made me feel happy because it was a lot like what happened with me. This poem was like a mirror to me because i had the same experience.
The book AMAZING FACES felt inspiring in some parts and uninspiring in other parts. over all I'd call it a good book. i liked it.

I chose this poem because it made me think about a lot of my dreams and how they get into my head. It also made me think about how my brain chooses which dream I will have each night. This poem made me feel like it was actually me who was having that dream. I chose this poem because it reminds me of when I go to Chinatown , Boston. It reminded me because of the quote: "I live on a street where every other thing is Lucky and every other other thing is for tourists."
This poem made me feel like those places where people go shopping for food in China and everywhere you look there's always fresh food.
This poem was a mirror because when we go to China and our relatives need to go grocery shopping we usually see all these type of markets.

WHICH WAY TO DREAMLAND?
I can imagine my yellow bedsheets rising into the shape of a sail because I have been sailing. I can visualize the golden sail blowing in the wind.
This poem made me feel calm and happy. I found this poem more of a mirror than a window because I have been sailing, I like to garden, and I get dust bunnies under my bed. I liked the book because poetry relaxes me.

A Young Soldier
I chose this poem because it connects with the way I see my closest family ( My Brother). Seeing him brings back so many memories and his boyish grin helps me realize that he wants to be home. “Hero”
I chose the poem “Hero” because I like football. My connection is that on T.V. I saw a football game and someone scored a game winning touchdown. The poem said “a winning touchdown”. That reminded me of the football game that I saw on T.V.
This poem made me feel happy for the person who scored the game winning touchdown. I felt happy for him because he must have felt so proud of himself for scoring that game winning touchdown. The younger sibling to the football player says “And becomes my instant hero”. That quote shows that she feels happy for him.
This poem was a window for me because I watched a game on T.V. and there was a game winning touchdown. I’ve been to football games and they're mostly Bedford High, go Bucs. I bet there have been players on the Bucs who have scored game winning touchdowns in front of their family. I have been to a game where a player intercepted a game winning touchdown so his family must have felt proud of him for making that interception. This could be a similar feeling like the one in the poem.
The book “Amazing Faces” made me feel indifferent because I was not impressed by this book but I didn’t hate the book. The poems weren’t funny and personally I had no connections excepted for “Hero”. Compared to the poems that I like (Shel Silverstein and Bruce Lunskey,) “Amazing Faces” tries too much to make a poem while Shel Silverstein will look out the window and come up with “the best children’s poem of the year.”

which way to dreamland i choose this poem because i always wondered where dreams come from. it made me fell more curios are they fantasy in your head is it the future. i didn't really like the book but its probably just that i don't really like poetry.
Karate Kid:
I picked this poem mostly because I like the last sentences in the first two paragraphs: I am crane in lofty flight ,training that I need not fight, and, Taught to do the hearts commands. I also really like the illustration on the page. Another thing that I like about this poem is that it makes me feel strong. And when I read it, it's like a sudden tune pops into my head, one that goes with the poem. Once in girl scouts a karate teacher came and taught us a few moves. I had a lot of fun doing that and I really enjoyed reading the poem.

The poem I selected was Hero by Tom Robert Shields. It's about a girl celebrating her brother winning the game for his team. I connected with this poem because it's about sports. Her brother becomes her hero. I want to be a hero for my younger siblings. Looking at it from a different prospective, I wonder if that's how my younger siblings look at me. I found this poem as a window. The reason is because I don't really have a hero. It was an interesting poem, and I enjoyed reading it.

I connected with this poem because my brother plays football and it would be really cool to see him get a touchdown.
This poem made me feel excited because it is football and cheerleading season. The chill air and golden sun is what I experience this time of year while out on the football field.
This poem is a window poem to me because I practice cheerleading with my team each night next to the football players and get to see my brother play. Our first game is coming up in a week and I hope to see him score a touchdown.
I didn't like this book because I couldn't relate to the poems there were only two or three that were just ok.
I chose Karate Kid because I do Karate. The person in the poem felt strong, and it made me feel like I could do that.

I would have liked the book more if the poems were a little bit longer.

“Do they leap from the pages of books I have read?” reminded me of all the times that I've dreamed about the book that I had read that night, and how I was the main character, experiencing all of her exciting adventures. I felt very relaxed reading Which Way to Dreamland. I liked reading someone else’s questions, and I was surprised that I actually had some of the same ones! This poem was mostly a mirror for me, although it was still a bit of a window, hearing someone’s questions about dreams. I really enjoyed reading Amazing Faces!

I chose this poem because sometimes I go outside and look at the stars for a little.The poem made me feel relaxed because when ever I read something calm I feel relaxed.The poems a mirror and a window because I don't live on a mountain but I do look at the stars.The book made me feel better because I was a little tired because I was writing for a long time.I think the story was good because it had a lot of different poems about different people.
