This book is about a seemingly normal boy named Perseus “Percy” Jackson. But then, monsters start attacking him, and he discovers his best friend is half human-half goat, and he is sent to Half-Blood Camp. He also discovers that he is the son of Poseidon, the water god. Then he is accused of stealing Zeus’ lightning bolt and Hades’ helm of darkness, and must have them returned in ten days. Next, the Oracle predicts a horrible ending for him. Will he survive his quest???
A part of the book that I liked was the table of contents. The names of the chapters are hilarious, and you should read them before you start the story.
I think both boys and girls ages 9-13 will enjoy this book.
