The Water Mirror by Kai Meyer
A girl named Merle who is a magic mirror apprentice.
When Merle shows Junipa (another character in the book) her magic mirror. The surface is water and Merle can stick her body parts in it.
I think boys and girls who are 8-12 years old will enjoy this book
