DIARY OF A WIMPY KID#1 by Jeff Kinney


Greg is going into his fist year of middle school and there are taller, meaner kids and all of Greg’s friends changed over the summer except him.
The funniest part was when Greg’s brother Rodrick woke him up at 3:00 to go to school. This book is a series so if you like the book you can read another 
I think kids who are 8 years old will enjoy this book.

Greg is going to middle school with his best friend Rowley and at the school basket ball court there a cheese that no one touches the cheese if you touch the cheese you have the cheese touch.
My favorite part is when Rowley fall down a hill and broke his arm.
I think kids who are 9 years old will enjoy this book.

THE KINGDOM KEEPERS: DISNEY AFTER DARK by Ridley Pearson


This book is about a kid named Finn who signs up to be a DHI, which stands for both Disney Host Interactive and Daylight Hologram Imaging.Him and 4 others have to save Disney World.A mysterious group of characters are trying to take over Disney World. The Overtakers are led by an evil witch named Maleficent.Can the DHIs defeat the Overtakers and save Disney World?    
My favorite part was when Maleficent was chasing Philby, Maybeck (other DHIs), and Finn. They have to split up to trick Maleficent. She chases Maybeck, but has followed the wrong person. Can Finn escape?     
I think boys who are 9-14 years old will enjoy this book.

YOU CAN'T EAT YOUR CHICKEN POX AMBER BROWN by Paula Danziger


Amber brown is about a girl who goes to London England to visit her aunt Pam and after she visits her aunt she is supposed to go see her dad in France but she gets the chicken pox and her dad comes to London England instead.
The funniest part is when she said she was going to have a party and only invite people that have the name of a color.
I think both boys and girls who are 7-11 years old will enjoy this book.

THE RIFLE by Gary Paulsen


In the story, a blacksmith crafts a rifle that has such good aim, that the blacksmith believes that he cannot make another like it. He needed money to raise a family, so he sells it to a man who becomes a famous sharpshooter. When he dies of disease, the gun was passed down for generations until present day. Then tragedy strikes. 
The saddest part is when the gun accidentally fires and kills the present owner’s friend.
I think boys who are 10 years old will enjoy this book.

THE NAME OF THIS BOOK IS SECRET by Pseudonymous Bosch


This Book is abut Cass and Max-Ernest who are to different kids who don’t know each other but join force to stop the evil Dr.L and Ms.Mavius. 
I like the parts when the other talks in footnotes. I think it’s funny.
I think kids ages 10-14 years old will enjoy this book.

THEODORE BOONE: KID LAWYER by John Grisham


Theodore Boone has always dreamed of becoming a lawyer. A murder mystery occurs, and only Theo knows the truth.  If he tells the truth, he’d be revealing someone’s secret, but if he doesn’t, then somebody gets away with murder.
My favorite parts are when the chapters end with cliffhangers so you feel like you have to keep reading.  Then I just cant put the book down!
I think both girls and boys ages 10 and up will enjoy this book

TRUMPET OF THE SWAN by E. B. White

This book is about a mom and dad trumpeter swan that laid five eggs.  After all the eggs hatched, each baby swan could talk.  Except one named Louis.  The story is about a swan that grows up with no voice.  His dad steals a trumpet so the baby swan can make noise.  But Louis is in debt and needs to pay back for the trumpet his father stole.  

My favorite part of the book is when Louis goes to a camp with his person friend, Sam.  During a camp day, a skunk appears at the camp with a soup can stuck on his head.  Sam gets a fishing pole and gets the can off the skunk head.  The skunk, frightened, sprays its stinky gas at Sam and he gets all smelly!
I would recommend this book to all animal lovers.

THE HOMEWORK MACHINE by Dan Gutman


This book is about a group of kids who invent a homework machine to do their homework instead of doing it! Then people find out about it so they plan to destroy it. While all of this is happening a guy named R.Milner is stalking the four kids and they don’t know why!
The scariest part of the story is when R.Milner guy shows up at one of their houses! The girls start running around screaming and it is just total chaos!   
I think both boys and girls ages 8-12 will enjoy this book

THE MYSTERY OF BLACKBEARD by Carole Marsh


The book was about a city called Bath and 4 children, and a play when a fake head disappears, so the 4 children try to find the head.     
My favorite part was when 2 of the kids get locked a room.
I would recommend this book to both boys and girls ages 9 & 10

DEAR DUMB DIARY: THE PROBLEM WITH HERE IS ITS WHERE I'M FROM by Jim Benton


Kids from Wodehouse middle school have to come to Mackerel Middle school and it happens to be at the same time that they are giving out awards. Lots of the girls try to sabotage the voting for prettiest, but some how by the end they all become really good friends and all get awards their proud of.
I thought the funniest part was when she tried to talk in an Italian accent that her friend taught her and said her grandma had that accent, but really it was just that her grandmas dentures were broken.
I think girls ages 8-12 will enjoy this book.

BRIAN'S WINTER by Gary Paulsen


This is a book about a 15-year-old boy who learns to survive in the Canada Wilderness. In Hatchet, Brian’s plane crashes and he has to survive. At the end of he book he is Rescued. But what if he wasn’t rescued. And Brian had to survive in Winter. That is what this book is about.
My favorite part was when Brian shot and got into a fight with the moose and eventually killed it.
I think boys ages 10-15 will enjoy this book.

THE FLEDGLING by Jane Langton


The Fledgling is about an eight year old girl who really wants to fly and believes she already has. She thought she flew and she will keep trying until she does. At the end she gets a gift from the goose.
My favorite part of the book was when she got the present from the goose prince. He was killed by a shot gun and the ball rolls into Georgie’s bush house.
I think girls who are ages 11-13 will enjoy this book.

This book is about a middle schooler who has trouble with school. He has trouble with
 bullies and friends. One example is when his friend got injured and his friend gets all the attention and the boy is jealous.  
My favorite funniest part is when the boy throws a football at his friend while his friend was riding a bike. Then, his friend got injured and he became popular.
I think both boys and girls ages 8-13 years old will enjoy this book

MY SISTER THE VAMPIRE: RE-VAMPED by Sienna Mercer


This book is about two girls who go to the same school, one of the girls is gothic and she is secretly a vampire, and they find out that they are twin sisters that were adopted.
My favorite part was when they both found out that they were twins sisters.
I would recommend this book to girls ages 8-12 years old.

BRIAN'S WINTER by Gary paulsen


Brian’s Winter is about a kid named Brian who gets trapped in the woods when the plane crashed. Now Brian has to build a house and stay warm for the brutal, harsh, and cold winter. He also has to protect himself from wild and dangerous animals and build weapons to kill animals so he can survive from starvation.
My favorite part in this book is when a skunk comes to Brian’s house and asks for food. That’s when the skunk kept on coming to Brian’s house and asking for food. That was the funniest part I liked in the book.
I would recommend this book to both boys and girls ages 10-13

THE WILL OF THE EMPRESS by Tamora Pierce

When Sandriline and her friends travel to her cousin’s land to see the land that her family has owned for years. But, when her cousin, the empress, wants to keep Sandrilie’s fortune in her land, Sandriline and her friends must escape her cousins powerful warriors and mages to get back to their homeland.
The scariest part was when someone kidnapped Sandriline and tries to get her fortune and property through marriage, by keeping her trapped until she signs a marriage contract.
I think both boys and girls ages 12-14 years old will enjoy this book.

THE RIVER by Gary Paulsen


Brian Robenson goes back into the woods to get interviewed and has no idea what is about to happen to him. One night Brian senses trouble when a massive lightning storm arrives and Derek, Brian’s interviewer, gets in serious trouble.
My favorite part is when Brian brings Derek down the river on the raft and gets him the nearest help.
I think both girls and boys ages 10-14 years old will enjoy this book.

THIS TOTALLY BITES! by Ruth Ames


When Emma-Rose’s great aunt Margo visits her and her family, Emma-Rose thinks she is strange, but when she sees her transform into a bat, she finds out she’s a vampire. But then she realizes her great aunt Margo is very similar to her and starts to think maybe she’s a vampire, too! She researches vampires and finds out there is a ritual the day of her school Halloween Dance. Will she be a real live vampire?


My favorite part was the beginning because I thought it was a good start to the book, with a dream.
I think girls who are 8-13 will enjoy this book.

WARRIORS: INTO THE WILD by Erin Hunter


The book is about a cat named Rusty who wanders into thunder clan territory and meets a cat named Graypaw. Graypaw and Rusty don’t know they are being watched by the clan leader Bluestar that then asks Rusty to join the thunder clan because they need more clan cats to make the clan more secure.
My favorite part is when Firepaw (or Rusty) goes into shadow clan territory to rescue two kittens that were stolen by Clawface (a shadow clan warrior) because it is really exciting because the thunder clan with the help of shadow clan elders try to rescue the kittens and the elders try to get rid of their rude and selfish leader Brokenstar.
 I would recommend this book to both boys and girls ages 9-14 years old

SNAKEHEAD by Anthony Horowitz


Alex Rider takes another breath-taking adventure. Snakehead a group involved in selling drugs and smuggling into countries. Alex has been recruited by the Australian government to put an end to Snakehead.
The best part is when Alex’s godfather tells him that he killed his parents.
I think boys who are ages 10-13 will enjoy this book.

RAY AND ME by Dan Gutman


When Stosh gets hit in the head with a baseball, he is lucky to survive. Then he learns about another player who was not so lucky- Ray Chapman, the only in major league to get hit by a pitch and die. 
The saddest part was when Ray dies.
I think  both boys and girls who are ages 9-12 will enjoy this book.

BRIAN'S WINTER by Gary Paulsen


Brain’s Winter is about Brain after he was saved. He is thinking that what if he was never saved. He thinks about how he would he survive out in winter. 
What surprised me the most was when Brain found a sharp object; he picked it up it cut him. I was surprised because if you find something sharp you don’t pick it up.
I would recommend this book to both boys and girls ages 8-13 years old.

AMELIA'S BULLY GUIDE by Marissa Moss


Amelia starts fifth grade and is met with new experiences, some good--Space Camp--and some bad--getting bullied, by a very mean girl named Hilary. Now she has to   try to get of Hilary and get through Space Camp.
My favorite part was when she screamed at Hilary. She really stood up for her  self. This book was the best.
I would recommend this book to girls who are ages 9-12.
