Genre: Mystery
The 39 Clues is a story of a boy named Dan Cahill, a girl named Amy Cahill, and a babysitter named Nellie. Amy, Dan, and Nellie go on an adventure that brings them to Philadelphia and France. They are trying to find clues to a treasure that their grandmother, Grace Cahill, hid. There are other people competing with Dan and Amy to get the clues.
Amy and Dan are against the other competitors, Ian and Natalie Kabra, the Holt family, Alastair Oh, Jonah Wizard and his dad, Ned Ted and Sinead Starling, and Irina Spasky.
The conflict is that Amy and Dan try to get clues but the other competitors try to steal the clues. Amy and Dan are trying to get clues before the other teams.
Amy and Dan both change a little bit throughout the book. I'd say Amy and Dan got a little braver after a little bit. They also got better at finding out the clues. Amy and Dan weren't very confident at the beginning of the book.
It sort of reminds me of Sherlock Holmes because he is a detective and he also has to find a lot of clues.
