Ella had two marriages
One with Benny Kornegay
And one with Ray Brown
Her child was Ray Brown Jr.
When she worked with Chick Webb,
another band challenged her
She overcame a stage fright accident
Ella was perseverance
She needed perseverance when she sang
Ella was always happy
And open to people
She was never afraid when she sang
Ella was best known
for her scat singing
She won 13 Grammy Awards,
1 Lifetime Achievement Award,
Kennedy Center Honors,
And an honorary doctorate degree
From Yale University
She died in 1996
