Ellie's New Home by Becky Citra

Ellie’s new home is about a girl who moves to Upper Canada with her father and brother, Max. The father leaves his two children for a couple of days with another family; while he helps to build the new house. Ellie must find a new way to fit in with this new family; and when a “small tragedy” strikes, Ellie begins to make a new friendship with her new “sister”, Mary- and helps “save a life”. But will her father EVER come back for Ellie and Max?! My favorite part about Ellie’s New Home was when the two girls, Ellie and Mary, go out to try to find the doctor in the dark, rainy, cold night. Soon, a new friendship begins to form. I think girls who are 8-12 will enjoy this book (it's a bit girly!). RATING: **** Postaholic 18
