Ella Fitzgerald by Abby

Ella

Was joyful because Chick Webb invited her to join his swing band, thoughtful because she used her money and fame to support Child Care Center in Los Angeles, California, brave because she fought through diabetes, and a leader because Ella was the first African american to perform in poplular nightclubs

Ella best loved scat singing, tap dancing, and expressing herself through her music

Ella felt sorrowful because she had diabetes, alone because she ran away and lived on the streets, and joyful because she received fourteen Grammy awards

Ella overcame reform school and stage fright

Ella needed someone to have her back when something went wrong like when she had diabetes and a heart attack

Ella gave her money and fame to support Child Care Center in Los Angeles, California

Ella, from Newport News, Virginia, United States, and Beverly Hills, California, United States
